Turn Your Radio On !

I feel that I’ve been neglecting my blogging duties recently so here’s a bit of a catch up . Since I last wrote I’ve had a trip to Spain during which time Parky ( Mr. Versatile himself ) took over percussion duties and by all accounts did a great job ( but don’t tell him will you ? I couldn’t stand any more smugness , he’s bad enough already ! )   We did a gig in Leeds where it seemed that every other person there was an old acquaintance of Steve’s or a long time fan . It was a great gig with great food – – and we got to meet the Lord Mayor of Leeds !  At the beginning of the month we played probably the most bizarre gig we’ve done in a long time .  We were on the back of a lorry in a field , an hour and a half later than we should have started due to having to wait for a variety show and the firework display to finish .By that time it was dark and most of the people had gone . So , surrounded by traction engines , we played to a handful of people ,40 max ,a flock of unimpressed sheep and two curious cows !  We played well though ! Now from the ridiculous to the sublime. On Monday of this week we were at the BBC Radio York studios to record the ‘Doctor Rock’ show with the man himself , our good friend Charles White .  The whole show featured our new CD “North Country Blues”.  As well as selected tracks from the record , we also performed live inbetween the chat and banter . The show will be broadcast next Sunday 18th August at 5.00 pm on Radio York . It is well worth a listen . Oh and if you do miss it , it will be available on the BBC iPlayer for a further 7 days . My next blog should be a report of our appearance on the International Stage at the Colne Blues Festival on 25th August . See you then !
